Get ready to participate in the annual Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown, an annual three-leg event which is held during the first quarter of the year. The Triple Crown was created from two very successful Costa Rica sportfishing events: the Signature Billfish Series and the Marlin Invitational.

In 2014 the first annual Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown billfish tournament was held. After an extremely successful Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series which has been running for 10 years, this tournament was designed to offer the best sportfishing competition in the Americas.
The success of these Costa Rica sportfishing competitions has made Los Suenos Costa Rica the billfish capital of the world. The last Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown saw an amazing 5,078 billfish released in just 9 days of sportfishing by an average of 39 teams: breaking all previous tournament records worldwide!
Los Suenos Signature Triple Crown 2015 Tournament Details
Location: The Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort sits between the Pacific Ocean and a 1,100-acre rainforest, and boast a 200 slip marina as well as the professional La Iguana Golf Club, a 18-hole championship golf course.
Dates: January 21-24, February 25-28, March 25-28
Format: The tournament is exclusively catch and release.
Target Game Fish: Marlin (all species) and Pacific sailfish.
Scoring: Points are received for each successful release: 500 for any species of marlin and 100 for Pacific sailfish.
Monitoring: An IGFA or LSOCP observers will rotate on the participating boats. All releases must be verified by one of the assigned monitors. Marlin releases can also have photo and/or video confirmation with a date and time stamp.
Tournament Entry Fee: the entry fee is $10,300 per boat per tournament or $20,600 per boat for the Series (three tournaments), including the Observer Fee of $300 per tournament. The entry fee includes seven social tickets for tournament events; four angler bags; T-shirts and caps for anglers and crew. Registered entries also qualify boats to win trophies and cash prizes delineated below.
Tournament Prizes: All registered boats are eligible for trophies and cash prizes. These prizes are awarded to the top three boats per tournament for overall billfish release points. The distribution of prize money is as follows – 50% to first place, 30% to second place and 20% to third place. There is a grand prize of $100,000 awarded to the Series Champion.
Teams compete for an invitation to the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) Offshore World Championship.
